Launched in 2001, Indress is the brain child of the designer Wies Schulte, a graduate from the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. The brand was born of a desire: to create products that she loves but can not find in stores. Her exceptional knitwear are all made in France.
Who are you?
Wies Schulte, from Netherlands, I studied in the Antwerp Academy and worked in Paris for Castelbajac and Kenzo, then I created my own brand : Indress.
How did you start in fashion?
When I was 10 years old, I sewed my first dresses for my dolls and then for me. I had sewing class in the village with adults people.
How would you define your style?
Well ... Always a tough question ... A decadent chic, elegant, precise, bright, pure, definitive. "Your clothes ? It's fun, colorful and for girls" just said my son !
What inspires you?
A woman like Romy Schneider, William Eggleston colors, my friends, my son's drawings, my lover's crazy ideas.
A few words about this collection...
Pure pieces with trendy colors, in crepe and silk satin, plain or patchworked. Warm and soft knits, made in France, long necklaces with feathers and silk petals on fine silver chains...
What's your favorite piece in our selection?
The black trench, with its perfect cut and its japanese wool gabardine. It's got a crazy allure !
What are you most proud of?
The "Indress Family", people around me that support me and the unique spirit of my brand. Movies that we make every season with an amazing team, with great actresses such as Julie Gayet, Adèle Haenel, Céline Salette ... And I'm proud of my clients who are beautiful and happy in my clothes !
Where do you manufacture your products?
Half in France and half in Pologne. I know each person that creates my clothes, I have them in pictures. You can see them on my website.
If your brand was a music, a movie, a cocktail...
Music : Nina Simone songs, Movie : The taste of tea, Katsuhito Ishii, Cocktail : Wies Fizz(my own cocktail : Bombay Sapphire, lime, homemade lemonade, mint and two ice cubes).
